Recognised indicators of treatment quality include, for example:
The number of patients treated
Functional improvements in important areas of daily life
The above data and other information is collected annually across Switzerland for each rehab clinic by the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Swiss National Association for Quality Development in Hospitals and Clinics (ANQ). The data is publicly available.
On behalf of CONCORDIA, the Basel-based consultancy BSS Economic Consultants carried out a statistical analysis of this quality data along with performance indicators from CONCORDIA (e.g. duration of stay, costs) for each clinic.
The result is an overall rating of all Swiss rehab clinics for particular areas of rehabilitation.
