Data protection and data security represent an important basis for the trustful relationship we have with our insured persons and business partners. With this statement, CONCORDIA provides insight into how it handles the data of insured persons and business partners

    Automatic collection of data
    When you visit its website, CONCORDIA collects, saves and uses general, impersonal usage data such as:

    • general information regarding the browser and operating system
    • visitor source
    • browser request information
    • date and time as well as duration of stay
    • information on surfing habits (clicking on banners, downloading files, etc.)
    • IP address
    • used browser add-ons

    These data form the basis for identifying trends in order to carry out statistical, anonymous evaluations, or they serve to improve the website. They are not transmitted to third parties.


    Data provided by you

    Personal data that you sent to CONCORDIA via the forms or the premium calculator on the website are transmitted in encrypted form and cannot be accessed by third parties. By entering personal data, you agree that CONCORDIA may process your personal data for the contractually or legally stipulated duration, and in particular for the purpose of submitting you an offer, contacting you by telephone, developing and maintaining customer relations, fulfilling and executing contractual or legal obligations, as well as for marketing purposes. The disclosure of data by operation of law, e.g. for the detection and prosecution of unlawful activities, remains reserved.

    If you provide CONCORDIA with personal data of other persons (e.g. family members), we kindly ask you to ensure that these persons are familiar with this data protection statement and to only give CONCORDIA their personal data if you are allowed to do so.

    You have no legal or contractual obligations to make your data available on the CONCORDIA website.


    Cookies
    Cookies are used for the provision of the website. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device and are used to retrieve certain information while navigating a website or during future visits (e.g. if you want to remember a customer advisor on the CONCORDIA website).

    Cookies are also used by Adobe Analytics, which is a web analytics service provided by Adobe Systems Software Ireland Limited ("Adobe"). On behalf of CONCORDIA, Adobe stores the information listed under "Automatic collection of data" on an Adobe server in London (UK). The IP address is only stored anonymously.     Brame

    CONCORDIA works with the service provider Brame (Brame AG, Neuhofstrasse 10, 8834 Schindellegi, Switzerland) for participation in games and for processing data for marketing purposes. Brame is a public limited company that focuses on developing and distributing software in the area of gamification and providing consulting services in the area of online marketing. Depending on the type of game, Brame processes the data you provide (e.g. last name, first name, address, telephone number, e-mail, date of birth) within a predefined framework and for purposes that are clearly stated by CONCORDIA. The data you provide from the games is subject to Brame's privacy policy and terms of use (Privacy Policy | Brame). Brame's servers are located on Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure.


    Active contents

    Active content (JavaScript) is used on the website to improve CONCORDIA's offer. You can disable active content in your browser's security settings. However, we would like to point out that in this case you will not be able to use important functions of the CONCORDIA website.

  • Conclusion and processing of the insurance contract (incl. issuing a quote)

    The data are processed for the purpose of creating a quote as well as concluding and processing the insurance contract. In particular, this includes the following purposes: Processing requests; benefit processing; compliance with legal, regulatory and internal provisions; commission settlement; data maintenance; statistical analysis; review of applications and underwriting as well as clarification of a breach of duty to notify (VVG/LCA); customer information; customer correspondence; debt collection and disbursement; customer advisory; insurance card; clarification of insurance requirement; discount review; combating insurance fraud. The data can be stored physically or electronically.

     

    Security

    The data are processed to guarantee information security. In particular, this can include the following purposes: Monitoring and documenting the systems and networks of CONCORDIA, ensuring operations, fault management, testing, back-up management.

     

    Marketing

    The data are used for the marketing purposes of CONCORDIA. In particular, the affected persons can be contacted once a year by letter and by phone from employees of CONCORDIA Insurances Ltd or through a partner centre. Other marketing activities may include: Determining customer satisfaction and customer needs, market research and provision of tailored services.

    Consent for the future can be withdrawn at any time. The legality of data processing that is conducted between the time of consent and the withdrawal of consent is not affected by this.

     

    Procurement through third parties

    Under certain circumstances, data can be obtained through third parties (e.g. hospitals, medical experts, other insurers, authorities). The data in these cases relate to insured persons (e.g. name, address, contact data, insurance products) or their health (e.g. invoices, medical reports, statements of benefits).

     

    Disclosure to recipients

    Within the scope of legal and contractual obligations, data can be disclosed to recipients. Depending on the individual case, this relates to the following categories of recipients: Service providers that support CONCORDIA in fulfilling processing purposes (e.g. IT service providers, printing companies, partner centres), authorities, other insurers, reinsurers, external experts, third parties involved in legal disputes as well as other companies of the CONCORDIA Group.

     

    Disclosure abroad

    The data may be transferred to the representative office of CONCORDIA in Liechtenstein. The Federal Council has established that the law in Liechtenstein provides adequate protection in accordance with Art. 16 para. 2 of the Federal act on data protection (DSG/LPD/FADP).

  • Conclusion and processing of contracts with business partners

    The data are processed for the purpose of concluding and processing the corresponding contract. In particular, this includes the following purposes: Selection and assessment of the contractual partner, contract conclusion, correspondence with the contractual partner, assessment of the fulfilment of the contract and invoicing.

    In accordance with the law or by agreement, third parties can receive data (in particular authorities, courts as well as external service providers).

  • Applicants

    The data are processed for the purpose of assessing the suitability of the applicant for the employment relationship and possibly to prepare and conclude the employment contract.

    Provided the applicant has given their consent, the data can also be saved outside the context of their application for a specific position to notify them of interesting job opportunities.

    In accordance with the law or by agreement, third parties can receive data (in particular authorities, courts as well as external service providers).

General information

Rights of the persons concerned
As an insured person or business partner, you have the right to receive written information about your personal data processed by CONCORDIA. As far as there are no legal or contractual obligations to the contrary, you have the right to delete, correct or restrict the data, as well as the right to data portability and the right to object. In addition, in the event of breaches of the Federal act on data protection (DSG/LPD/FADP), you have the option of lodging a complaint with the relevant data protection authority.

CONCORDIA reserves the right to change this data protection statement at any time and to adapt it to any new data processing procedures.
